Cross of Covalagarto
Also known Cruceiro das Bugalleiras.
It was erected in 1859 on a cylindrical and smooth rod covered by a capital of four curved sides with three little heads and a skull in the central parts at the feet of the Holy Christ. The capital is spheroidal in shape, although the upper part shows the astragalus with the four sides and the lower part shows the hemisphere with its equator marked. It supports a rectangular cross with figures on both sides. On the obverse, under the INRI cartouche, we can see the image of Christ attached to the wood, with his head tilted to the right and his hands closed. On the reverse there is a small image of the crowned Virgin Mary, with the child Jesus in the right arm instead of the more usual left.
