The parish of Taboexa is located in the northwest of the municipality of As Neves, on the western slope of Mount San Nomedio. It covers an area of 7 square kilometers and has approximately 439 inhabitants living in 43 villages. Although it has no rivers, it is irrigated by various streams. Taboexa stands out for its good westward orientation and the gentle terrain of its neighborhoods and villages. Our parish is one of the oldest in Galicia, as evidenced by its inclusion in the Parroquial Suevo of the year 570. In this document, it is mentioned as Tabolela, along with 133 other parishes of the Kingdom of Galicia, which at that time included part of León and northern Portugal.
