Reguengo Cross
The shaft is crowned by a four-sided capital showing three faces of angels with wings in the centre of each one, except for the left side. Scrolls and acanthus leaves complement the ornamental motifs. A cross with bulges simulating the knots in the wood, with the ends of the arms and the head of the cross cut off at a bevel. On the obverse side we see a Christ with three nails under an INRI sign with angled arms, while on the reverse side, on a cloth, there is an image of the Virgin Mary covered with a mantle, holding her dress in her left hand. The sundial has lost the gnomon that marked the hours. The almiñas or petos de ánimas with a sundial incorporated so that the neighbours could tell the time of the irrigation shifts in the fields are quite rare throughout Galicia. This is the only case we know of in the municipality of As Neves. It was probably built in the second half of the 19th century.
